Programme Costs

The programme costs to start as a student within the IMRD programme (after being deemed academically fit) depends on the nationality of the applicant.

A distinction is made between applicants form Erasmus+ Programme Countries and nationals from Non-Erasmus+ Programme countries (= E+ Partner Countries).

Following are the Erasmus+ Programme Countries:

  1. the 28 EU member states:
    Belgium Greece Lithuania Portugal
    Bulgaria Spain Luxembourg Romania
    Czech Republic France Hungary Slovenia
    Denmark Croatia Malta Slovakia
    Germany Italy Netherlands Finland
    Estonia Cyprus Austria Sweden
    Ireland Latvia Poland United Kingdom

  2. Non-EU Erasmus+ Programme Countries:
    former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Iceland                                   Norway                                                       
    Liechtenstein Turkey  

=> all other countries are referred to as E+ Partner Countries.

Programme Costs for Erasmus+ Programme Country Nationals

The yearly programme costs for 2018-2020 amounts to 4,500 EUR per year, covering tuition fees, costs for insurance coverage, and the administrative costs of the programme.

All IMRD students are expected to finance costs related to visa and preparatory documents, accommodation, additional insurances, living cost and travel costs themselves. Notwithstanding, all IMRD partner institutes have services for foreign students that can provide assistance in visa, accommodation, insurances and other living arrangements.

Programme Costs for Erasmus+ Partner Country Nationals

The yearly programme costs for 2018-2020 amounts to 9,000 EUR per year. This covers the tuition fees, and all other programme-related costs, including the costs for insurance coverage and the administrative costs of the programme (enrolment, administrative support, access to all faculty and university services, the organisation of the case study, the thesis defence, and other expenditures directly linked to the organisation of the course).

All IMRD students are expected to finance costs related to visa and preparatory documents, accommodation, additional insurances, living cost and travel costs themselves. Notwithstanding, all IMRD partner institutes have services for foreign students that can provide assistance in visa, accommodation, insurances and other living arrangements.

Total estimated cost for self-sponsoring students

The estimated total cost for students planning to study the IMRD programme with their own financial means could be estimated as follows:

  • Programme costs: 9,000 EUR or 4,500 EUR depending on the above-mentioned stipulation (situation 2017-2018)

  • Minimum living expenses: 750 EUR per month on average

The programme costs include a minimum health insurance, as offered by the consortium to all students.
Some additional costs may be charged (up to a maximum of 1,600 EUR) for specific transportation arrangements related to the organisation of case studies, internships or thesis defence.
Travel costs from the country of origin to Europe and the costs related to the mobility inside Europe are not included in this estimation.
