The College of Public Administration at Nanjing Agricultural University is the major institute for education in resource and environmental economics and land management in South China. The research activities at CPA are concentrated in the Centre for Resource & Environmental Economics Study (CREE-NAU) and the China Centre for Land Policy Research . Both institutes also involved in several research activities in international projects. Examples are the Asia-link project with Wageningen University, the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands, Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and the EU-INCO projectsand the SAIL programme of the Netherlands government, Ministry of Development Co-operation. Prof. Dr. Xiaoping Shi holds a PhD in Development Economics and is professor at College of Public Administration (College of Land Management) and research fellow in the China Centre for Land Policy Research of Nanjing Agricultural University. His research covers development economics and resource and environmental economics. He is involved in projects dealing with economic policy reforms, land degradations and sustainable land use in rural China. He has worked on the impact of off-farm employment on sustainable land use in South-East China for several years. In terms of land finance, he discussed local government land financial strategies and its formation mechanism from the perspective of Chinese-style decentralization and local government competition.
Prof. Dr. Shuyi Feng holds a PhD in Development Economics and is currently professor at College of Public Administration (College of Land Management) and research fellow in the China Centre for Land Policy Research of Nanjing Agricultural University. She specializes in rural land tenure system, rural factor markets, and sustainable natural resource use and management.
